Lionsgate is expanding its “Hunger Games” franchise to the live stage in 2016.

The studio announced Friday that it has teamed with Dutch media company Imagine Nation and U.S. based Triangular Entertainment to bring the show to a new, purpose-built theater next to Wembley Stadium in London.

The first two “Hunger Games” movies — based on the Suzanne Collins novels and starring Jennifer Lawrence as the reluctant hero Katniss Everdeen — have grossed more than $1.5 billion at the worldwide box office. “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1″ will be released worldwide on Nov. 21.

Producers are Robin de Levita, co-founder of Imagine Nation, along with U.K. promoter Harvey Goldsmith, Triangular Entertainment’s Warren Adams, Brandon Victor Dixon of WalkRunFly Productions and entertainment executives Robert Harris and R&R Media’s Gary Ricci.
